1. Who we are
This website, vda.global, is provided by:
VDA Global Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore
Verified Digital Assets KE Limited, a company registered in Kenya
In this notice, "VDA", "we", "us" and "our" mean both of these companies. We are responsible for the personal data we collect through this website.
If you have a question about this notice or about your personal data, contact our data protection officer at info@vda.global.
2. What this notice covers
This notice covers personal data we collect through this website and when you email us. The VDA platform, our web platform and phone app for businesses, is covered by the platform agreement and the privacy information we give to the businesses that use it.
3. The data we collect
When you contact us
We collect your name, your email address and your message. If you choose to give them, we also collect your organisation, your phone number and the type of business you work in. We record the date and time you sent your message and the IP address it came from, to help us stop spam.
When you visit the website
The company that hosts our website keeps standard server logs. These include your IP address, your browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. The logs are used to keep the website secure and working.
When you play our film
The film on our home page is hosted on YouTube, a Google service. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the film plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube receives information such as your IP address and may store cookies or similar data on your device, as described in Google's privacy policy.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies itself, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers. The only exception is YouTube, and only if you choose to play the film.
4. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange demonstrations of the platform;
- discuss and manage a business relationship with you or your organisation;
- keep a record of our communications;
- keep the website secure and prevent spam and misuse; and
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you. We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them.
5. Why we are allowed to use it
We use your data because you have asked us to contact you, because it is needed to take steps towards a contract with you or your organisation, and because we have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. Where the law requires your consent, we will ask for it, and you can withdraw it at any time.
7. Transfers to other countries
Our companies are in Kenya and Singapore, and our service providers may store data in other countries. When we transfer your data to another country, we take the steps that data protection law requires to keep it protected.
8. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to two years after our last contact with you. If you or your organisation start using the VDA platform, we keep the data for as long as the platform agreement and the law require. Our website host keeps server logs for a limited period for security purposes.
9. How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data. A copy of each enquiry is stored on the server that hosts our website, in a folder that cannot be reached from the web, so that no enquiry is lost if an email fails. Only people at VDA who need your data to deal with your enquiry can see it.
No method of sending or storing data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your data.
10. Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights over your personal data. Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, these include the right to be told how your data is used, and the rights to access it, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its use, and receive it in a portable format. Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012, you can ask for access to and correction of your data, and you can withdraw your consent.
To use any of these rights, email info@vda.global. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on your request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya (odpc.go.ke) or the Personal Data Protection Commission in Singapore (pdpc.gov.sg).
11. Children
This website is for businesses. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
